What I’m Reading
Stephanie Gilbert, a 55-year-old Black woman, sought out Jungsun Kim, a South Korean immigrant who had recently purchased Richland Farm — a property Gilbert had been visiting for the past decade where her great-great-grandfather was once enslaved. Will its new owner let a Black woman continue to visit to pay tribute to her ancestors?
She cherished the home where her family fled slavery. Then a stranger bought it, The Washington Post
Fade in the water. The Alabama Sweet Tea Party. Malice in Montgomery. The brawl on a riverfront in Montgomery has many names. Read the latest in my story about the entire incident. Horror: A doctor used too much force and *decapitated* a Georgia woman’s baby during delivery, according to a lawsuit.
Attorneys also accused hospital staff of attempting to cover up the decapitation by discouraging the couple from getting an autopsy, encouraging them to have their son cremated, and propping his body to make it appear the head was still attached.

‘Working class’ does not equal white, The Atlantic
